Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan Information Agency (IP) signed an agreement with the Italian News Agency ANSA this Tuesday. The objective is to establish a content exchange that will expand the services offered by both agencies while fostering mutual understanding between Paraguay and Italy.
The document was signed by Paraguay’s Deputy Minister of Communication, Alejandra Duarte Albospino, and ANSA’s Executive Director, Stefano De Alessandri.
The signing ceremony, held at the Residence of Italy in Asunción, was attended by Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, who concluded her South American tour in Paraguay.
The signed document specifies that the agreement includes the mutual provision of articles and journalistic services, with the latter serving as a journalistic information source for editorial purposes only. The goal is for each party to enrich its news services with international content provided by the other.
«Today is a day of great joy for Paraguay as we fulfill a mandate from President Santiago Peña to communicate and communicate. The signing of this agreement between IP and ANSA marks a milestone in our communication efforts, as this strategic alliance will enable us to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives, strengthening our bilateral ties and enriching public discourse,» said Deputy Minister Duarte Albospino at the ceremony.
The Deputy Minister thanked both agencies for their commitment and forward-looking vision, expressing her belief that this collaboration will lead to numerous projects. «This is a historic event for us in government communication,» she affirmed.
Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, also commented that the signing of this initial agreement is the beginning of a collaboration aimed at lasting over time.
«Latin America, and within it Paraguay, shows great dynamism on the global stage, and with this agreement, Italy now has a direct interlocutor in this region,» she stated.
ANSA’s Executive Director, Stefano De Alessandri, noted that ANSA is an agency with more than 80 years of experience and a long-standing presence in South America.
He asserted that ANSA (Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata) currently has correspondents in 50 countries, and the agreement with IP will allow them to expand this coverage further.
Finally, the Italian Ambassador to Paraguay, Marcelo Fondi, expressed his confidence that this agreement will significantly contribute to a deeper mutual understanding between the two countries.
