Asunción, Agencia IP.- First Lady Leticia Ocampos has been participating since yesterday in the Second Annual Global Academy of First Ladies, an event organized by the Global First Ladies Alliance (GFLA) in collaboration with the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and supported by various international organizations.

This event, held at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice, is designed to strengthen the leadership of first ladies in health and development globally.

The academy’s first day began with a welcome and introduction by representatives of GFLA, the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, and the Ford Foundation. During the inaugural session, an overview of the academy’s objectives and strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the leadership capabilities in the health and development of First Ladies was provided.

GFLA experts discussed «The Role of the First Lady as a Leader, Role Model, and Agent of Change» and how First Ladies can leverage their positions to influence public policies and promote social change.

The report «The Impact of First Ladies and Gentlemen on the Nations’ Soft Power Index,» prepared by the First Lady and Gentlemen Summit and Brand Finance, will be presented.

The day’s program also includes a session on leadership principles and the unique strengths of First Ladies. Here, the ’10 Steps of First Ladies’ from the GFLA curriculum will be discussed, designed to provide the necessary tools to lead effectively and create lasting impact, inspiring and empowering the audience.

The event will continue until Friday, July 12, and will cover crucial topics such as maternal and child health, climate change, mental health, and effective fundraising and resource mobilization strategies.

The active participation of the Paraguayan First Lady underscores the country’s commitment to promoting public health and sustainable development. It reinforces its position on the global stage.
